If you enjoy working with fellow University of California, Irvine (UCI) undergraduate students invested in developing and implementing generative approaches to engaging with a diversity of audiences on the relevance and qualities of Chicanx-Latinx history, joining our Public Scholarship Team may be of interest to you.

Our Public Scholarship Team will provide you with the opportunity to grow in your conceptualization, research, writing, and dissemination of pathways that have the potential to fuel and support humanizing public knowledge creation and sharing across generations of people and locations.

By joining our Public Scholarship Team, you will be required to:

Enroll and attend our 2-unit seminar course (Chicano-Latino Studies 198)

Participate in seminar course reading discussions on public scholarship

Attend and participate in our University-Community Links workshop events


Present your public scholarship contributions in team event programs

The requirements for applying to become a part of our Public Scholarship Team are having a 2.7 GPA or higher and completing at least one course taught in the Department of Chicano-Latino Studies.
